Cartier launched its newest high jewellery collection called Inde Mysterieuse, during London Fashion Week.
The new collection, was inspired by the mystery of India, and was revealed to the international fashion community.
The cocktail dinner was one of Cartier’s most elaborate to date.
The extraordinary setting of Lancaster House, one of London’s most prestigious landmarks, was transformed into an Indian palace where Cartier entertained British and International VIPs guests and eminent Cartier clients from around the world.
London had been chosen for this spectacular unveiling owing to Cartier London’s rich heritage and ties with India and it’s most famous Maharajahs. This event marks the first international Cartier jewellery launch in London.
The venue, Lancaster House, is a Grade I listed building and is the archetypal town house of the Victorian era.
Lancaster House is constructed from bath stone, in a neo-classical style, being the last great London mansion to use this essentially Georgian architecture. The interior was completed in 1840 and it was assessed for Rates (tax) rating purposes as the most valuable private house in London.
Transformation into an Indian Palace, took workers 8000 hours, in which time they used: 300m of organza ribbon, 700 light projectors, 1500m of Indian fabrics and 2km of wood. On entry through Lancaster's magnificent entrance hall, guests were greeted with a huge 12ft floral display of hydrangeas, roses, and classic British autumnal flowers from McQueen.
