'pop-in' to your local Pop Store™ If you love edgy designer brands and haven't been to a Pop-Store™, you soon will. The phenomenon that has been delighting fashionista's (in the know) of their existence, are to become more accessible to us all.
The transient British concept is preparing to bring a clutch of über cool fashion brands to Brent Cross Shopping Centre London, from the 23rd of June — for just eight weeks.
The store will consist of under-exposed designer labels in an altogether different retail environment.
Fashion always craves individuality, so prepare yourself for a revolution led by the 'Save Anna' T-shirt; a cult offering from New York City-based art director Christopher Le Suavé. Designer T-shirts have become one of the key items for the season, as they can be worn under the plethora of sculptured jackets (or with distressed jeans), on sale. Also, LA's vintage-inspired Wildfox brand boasts an enviable celebrity following including: Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus. UK based street-wear brand FOURHOLES and the innovative, revivalist Australian sunglasses brand Le Specs; are among the other clothing/accessory labels on offer. The store will also benefit from a selection of jewellery designers like: Eat Your Feet (who count Kate Moss and Sadie Frost as fans); Love from Hetty & Dave and Timex 80 — a retrospective glance at the digital watch.
Unlike other Pop Up stores, Pop Store will be moving around major shopping centres in the UK, promoting its cool fashion labels and transforming interiors from shop-to-shop.
Rick Owens Store Opens in London It was the opening we have all been waiting for . . .

Housing all of his collections like: men's and women's clothing, Rick Owens Lilies (a diffusion line of classic style re-interpreted in jersey for women only); Darkshadow (DRKSHDW) Denim for men and women; and Palais Royal (Owen's fur and exotic leathers line including accessories); the store — in design and concept — capitulates his no fuss ethic.
Spanning two floors, one on street level and the other one below, the store features a raw concrete finish, sharp lines and edges with miniaturized scaffold poles (as clothes rails), that do not distract from his great designs.
Worth the wait.

By September 2008, Art & Fragrance took on board Paris-based Financière Saint-Germain (FSG) — a private family holding company of the Amouyal family — as a strategic shareholder for Lalique. Today, FSG owns the renowned French manufacturers Haviland porcelain.

Pictured above left: Kylie Minogue in 'H&M Loves Kylie' Range
H&M's SHANGHAI STORE OPENS H&M flung open the doors of its pristine new four-storey shop in Shanghai's bustling Lu Wan shopping heartland, on Thursday the 12th of April 2007. The crowd of shoppers, who had been waiting since early morning, quickly escalated to more than 700 people. And when the store opened at 11am they rushed to get in and get a hold of H&M's own collection, involving of-the-moment fashion and wardrobe essentials for men, women, teens and children, as well as the just launched limited edition "H&M Loves Kylie" line.
The shopping fervour in-store stemmed from a tidal wave of excitement that kick-started the previous night at a fabulous party, where a jaw-dropping performance by Kylie Minogue provided the ultimate fanfare to H&M's arrival in Asia.
Shanghai's glass dome Science Museum was set alight that night, to herald H&M's Shanghai debut as well as the international launch, four weeks ahead of the rest of the world, of the "H&M Loves Kylie" capsule beachwear collection.
The star to spot though, became show-stoppingly apparent. At ten o'clock, to the sound of gongs, the choir (wearing silver H&M tracksuits) filled the steps of a magnificent eight metres high Busby Berkeley-style tiered stage set and Kylie was elevated from below on a twinkling mirrored tower, wearing a specially designed dress by H&M's Head of Design Margareta van den Bosch. As she belted out her "Can't Get You Out of My Head" hit, twenty dancers sporting beach-cool "H&M Loves Kylie" aqua print sarong dresses, bikini tops, head scarves and large shades danced on the silver stage in front of her.
A shower of silver confetti and gasp-inducing fireworks provided the spellbinding finale to a glistening evening.
The new Shanghai H&M store is situated at 645-659 Middle Huai Hai Road.
primark opens on oxford street It was 'the opening' fashionistas on a budget had circled in their diaries (the 5th of April 2007) in anticipation. For the retailers occupying commercial space the length and breath of Oxford Street, it was the store opening they were all dreading.
Affordable retailer Primark took up residency at its new 70,000sq ft Oxford Street store to crowds bigger than the 1st day of the Harrods sale.
With clothes prices starting at as little as £2, it was no wonder many camped outside in the hope of buying a piece of spring/summer fashion, without an expensive price tag.
It would seem the site, which many have said is cursed as it has been home to retailing failures such as: C&A and Allders — in the past, has had no such bad luck on Primark — so far. On the contrary, you just have to look at the amount of shopping bags bobbing down the world famous street, to see where everybody is shopping.

Abercrombie & Fitch to open Flagship store on Savile Row A plane ride to America will no longer be necessary to visit an Abercrombie & Fitch store because, on March 22 at 10:00 a.m., Abercrombie & Fitch will open its first flagship European store at 7 Burlington Gardens in London.
Dealing closely with English Heritage, the store has been developed as a sensitive restoration and conversion of a Grade II* listed building, originally built as a home in 1725. The structure has been added to and altered over its nearly 300-year history, yet architectural features from every stage remain, including the building's original staircase and the vaults from its incarnation as a branch of the Bank of England. The 18-month restoration project includes a series of carefully scaled design elements that unite the Abercrombie & Fitch brand environment with these historical attributes.
Mike Jeffries, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abercrombie & Fitch said, "We are thrilled by the opening of the London store, which will truly become a worldwide flagship. Its location in one of the most historic districts in the retail world will provide an extraordinary showcase for the Abercrombie & Fitch brand."
In 1892, Abercrombie & Fitch began as a small store and factory in New York City. David Abercrombie & Ezra Fitch were dedicated to selling only the highest quality camping, fishing and hunting gear. Distinguished clientele included Theodore Roosevelt, Admiral Robert Peary, Ernest Hemingway, the Duke of Windsor, Sir Ernest Shackleton, Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy.
Abercrombie & Fitch seeks to outfit a new generation of spirited clientele in the United Kingdom.
cos style needn't cost a fortune Looking stylish, from one season to the next, will be easier on your purse now that Collection of Style (COS) is here.
COS, is the progeny of H&M that merges high fashion attributes (meticulous fabrics, finish and fit) with ground level pricing; creating inspirational design that's financially accessible.
Too good to be true, well the reality is that COS has managed to design (with flair) a collection consisting of wardrobe perennials — at attainable prices — for both men and women. Choose from a chic black sack dress with a bold contrast metal zipper running down the back for women or, for men, a butter soft fudge leather bomber jacket with Western stitch detail. Both of which are stunning pieces that compliment a range that possesses lean-cut accessible design, with just a wink of character that lends each garment a modernist edge. As Rebekka Bay COS's Womenswear Designer puts it: "It is fashionable essentials, reinvented classics and the latest trends."
"The focus is quality in terms of the fabrics, fit and finish. It's ready-to-wear level design at high street prices. Plus, there are lots of fundamental pieces, like the perfect fitting piqué polo shirt; crisp shirting; classic T-shirts and cashmere V-necks," adds Michael Kristensen, COS's Menswear Designer.
The new sleekly designed flagship store, by William Russell, opens on the 16th of March in London's shopping heartland — Regent Street. Other store openings will follow in Belgium and the Netherlands at the end of March.
