There is something special about the Metropolitan London Hotel. Maybe the inclusion of fine touches like the Terry de Havilland retrospective of his designs (on display in the lobby), add to its charms (as well as the pleasant nature of the staff who work there), or maybe it is the safe knowledge of knowing that the hotel floors — dedicated to showing the forthcoming A/W '08 seasons collections — will bear the fruit of a great fashion find.
As always, the hotel didn't disappoint as it astutely managed to provide all of the above. For buyers and journalist alike, the collections spread across the hotels third and forth floors, were a treasure trove of fashion label finds (see below for examples). Sumptuous fabrics pleated, folded and cut to perfection in warm palettes graced clothing rails which would make for an enviable walk-in wardrobe. As though to reinforce the notion that winter dressing needn't be boring, a little titillation for after hours, in the form of the Ministry of Burlesque were on hand to add some spice.

Jones' buying experience (with prestigious fashion company's — in the past), has afforded her with an experienced fashion eye, that can spot key trends. Stand out brands include Australian label Mary · Kyri's unique, high-fashion footwear; that are superbly made. Relatively new, this brand has already gained the reputation (for luxury and style) it deserves, in its native Australia.
Old stalwart Betsey Johnson, has produced some of the most gorgeous lace prom dresses, in flirty dirndl shapes, that are very flattering when worn.
